- Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania worked with its statewide partners to advance the creation of the Energy Independence Greenhouse, funded through the Commonwealth's recent $40 million allocation from its Energy Independence Initiative. The Greenhouse will be focused on developing companies and commercializing technologies for energy generation (solar, wind, clean coal), conservation (smart meters, high performance buildings), and transportation.
- The U.S. Department of Energy to Invest up to $24 Million for Breakthrough Solar Energy Products.
- The BFTP statewide network has won the 2008 U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) Economic Development Award for Technology-led Economic Development

- On May 12th, 2008, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center and Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, held a successful building dedication for the newly renovated Building 100 Innovation Center at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia. The Building 100 Innovation Center is Greater Philadelphia's energizing new hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, ingenuity and business growth.
